Reservoir Sprues

After metal is cast and starts cooling, the metal shrinks.  A large mass of metal when cooling can draw or suck  from a smaller mass. Have you ever had pitting or porosity where the sprue and the ring shank meet.  Have you ever had a ring shank crack at this area?

Reservoir Sprues can help with this issue. The reservoir acts as a buffer between the ring shank and the button not allowing the button to draw metal from the shank as the metal cools.   Reservoir sprues come in 2 mm and 3 mm widths in packages of 10 or packages of 100.
